Biography

Dr. W. Hudson Kensel is professor emeritus from California State University, Fresno, where he was a former chairman of the Department of History. His early childhood was spent at Pahaska and Cody, Wyoming, where he came to know many of the places and people in Cody country. He moved to the state of Washington where he completed his education earning a Ph.D. in western United States history. Dr. Kensel has published a number of book reviews and articles on Pacific Northwest history and has published articles on Cody country history in various professional history journals. His most recent book, Dude Ranching in Yellowstone Country, Larry Larom and the Valley Ranch 1915-1969, was republished in 2022 by The Arthur H. Clark Company, an imprint of the University of Oklahoma Press.
